The Justified Life - continued ...

The truth of Scripture is, that no matter what you were, that is not what you are, if you're in Christ. This truth is important because who we see ourselves to be is how we act.

" ... you were washed ... you were sanctified ... you were justified
in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."
1 Corinthians 6:11b

God changes people and gives us a new identity. A new life in Christ results in a new lifestyle. Genuine salvation results in actually being saved from ongoing, habitual sin. If we are sinners who are trying to be good, we will inevitably fall.

Our changed life and character should point the way to God.

No matter how terrible the sin of our life may have been in the past, Jesus Christ can change us. When we are in bondage to sin, it can be very defeating.

"The man who formerly persecuted us
is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy." Galatians 1:23b
Think of all Paul had to overcome ~ WOW! Paul's life was so much changed from Persecutor to Preacher!! A total 180!
We CAN change ... we MUST change. What things do you struggle with?
I have shared before in this blog and will do so again that I struggle with overeating. I can change and dare say I have in many ways, but still struggle. I can change from Overeater to Overcomer ... what opposites do you want evidenced in your life? Where we are WEAK we can be STRONG!

Today's Positive Mom Challenge
Continue to Smile :)
Last night I was correcting my 4 year old. She had been too silly at dinner all night, just being loud and making a lot of noise. There is a time to be a kid and have fun, but she had been taking it too far. I removed her from the table and sat her on the stairs and told her exactly that ~ that there was a time to have fun and carry on, but that she needed to stop and eat and calm down! I told her if I had to remove her again that she would get a spanking and be put in time out to which she looked me dead in the eyes and said with such seriousness and a touch of dramatic dread "That's terrible!"
I wish you could have heard her, it was one of those moments I couldn't keep a straight face and sent her back to the table trying to be serious. Of course I lost all "mom authority" in that moment ... but atleast I was smiling!
;)
