Mi Kamocha

Mi Kamocha - If you aren't familiar with Hebrew ... no this is not some new fancy Starbucks coffee.  Mi Kamocha means, "Who is like Thee?" and it is a beautiful prayer and song in Hebrew.  When I read the scriptures below today I think of this prayer and song.

Scripture:    “There is none like the God of Jeshurun (“upright one”) — He descends from the heavens in majestic splendor to help you.  The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.  So Israel dwells safely, prospering in a land of corn and wine, while the gentle rains descend from heaven.  What blessings are yours, O Israel!  Who else has been saved by the Lord?  He is your shield and your helper!”  Excerpted from Deuteronomy 33:26-29 The Living Bible Translation

This came from our daily reading in Deuteronomy 33:26-29 and 1 Corinthians 2

Observation:  There is NO God like our God!  He descends from the majesty of heaven to help us and is a refuge to us.  Underneath us are His Everlasting Arms!  What a beautiful picture of God’s help and grace to us.  Because of Him we dwell in safety and feel the gentle rains that come over us.  What blessings are ours!  Can you name three blessings you are experiencing right now because of the LORD?  (Flood the comments below with blessings He has given you!)  He is a shield for us and a helper.

Application:  Recognize His blessings.  He came down to be crucified for us and to give us good things (“no human mind has conceived, the things God has prepared for those who love him).  Let Him instruct you today with the mind of Christ that is in you. (Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”  But we have the mind of Christ.)

Prayer:  Hold me in Your Everlasting Arms today LORD!  Thank you for coming down (descending) and for all Your many blessings.  Help me to focus on those blessings today.  Let my mind be transformed and renewed (Romans 12:1-2) and let the mind of Christ be my guide today, not my earthly mind!  Through Christ, God incarnate, Emmanuel, I pray, Amen & Amen.
