January 5 (Tivet 9) ~ Matthew 2

Tivet is the Biblical month.

WE HAVE SEEN HIS STAR
S - Scripture: Matthew 2:1-23

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. Matthew 2:10-11

O - Observations
What jumped out at me in these verses was the fact that they rejoiced with exceeding great joy at finding Yehoshua, Jesus, and that they fell down and worshipped Him and presented to Him gifts from their treasures, gold, frankincense and myrrh.

A - Application for today

To rejoice "chairo" to rejoice, be glad, rejoice exceedingly. This is a verb so it requires ACTION! We rejoice because the hope of future blessedness gives great joy. Matthew 5:12 says REJOICE! and be exceedingly glad for great is your reward in Heaven. Luke the doctor tells us this verse in this way REJOICE! ... and leap for joy ... Matthew 18:13 in the parable of the sheep says that The Shepherd rejoices over every lost sheep that he finds. John in 3:29 talks of this kind of rejoicing as the rejoicing when you here a bridegroom's voice state that his joy is fulfilled. I remember on the day of my wedding ... the first words my bridegroom spoke to me was how "radiant" I looked and in return his face lit up too. This is the rejoicing we do when we find our One True Bridegroom, Yeshua, the Messiah! LEAP FOR JOY and then fall down and worship at His feet!!!! With the chairo (rejoicing) and chara (joy) comes worship when we see Him for Who He is.

Pipto proskyneo - to literally be thrust down, made prostrate, to be overcome, to lose authority, to cease, to fall down and to kiss the Master's hand, to show reverence for, to touch the ground with one's forehead. When was the last time you fell down and kissed the Master ~ to be so overwhelmed that you were literally found on your face before Him in humbleness and in worship?

P - Prayer
What have I to offer Thee LORD? Gold, Frankincense or Myrrh? I have not of any of these, but my tears I offer Thee ... in humble worship I come to adore, on bended knee I kiss the floor. My head, my heart now bow to Thee in humble worship to the King. You are the Savior, You are my LORD. You led me here, I need no more than what You offer and to Thee I adore, My King, My Savior and My LORD. My Father, My God to Thee I bow, and to no other, for there is none other worthy like Thee, My Savior, My God and My King ...
