Scripture: Matthew 16:21–17:13

are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man
… If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and
follow me. ”

Observation
/ Application: If we are not
keeping our minds stayed on Christ we will likely miss the things that He wants
to do in our lives. In yesterday’s
passage Yeshua praised Peter for his faith; today Yeshua rebukes or corrects
him for “missing the mark” and for taking his mind off of God’s plan(s). If we are not careful we can go from being
full of faith to failing faith. Let’s
keep our minds on the things of God today!
Prayer: Father in Heaven, thank you for reminding us
to keep our minds stayed on You! Help us
to follow you today even when that means denying our own wants and desires and
replacing them with Yours! Through
Christ our faithful example I pray, Amen & Amen.
