Scripture: Matthew 21:1–27
Observation: I see in this passage the theme of prayer and
praise. Jesus made it clear that the
temple was to be a place of prayer and not for selling pigeons. He also talked later about the prayer of
faith that could move mountains.
The other theme I see here is that of
praise. People praised Jesus, Yeshua, as
He rode into the city. The infants and
nursing babies praised Him too.
For me prayer and praise are two
things that can change our lives and have the most impact in our lives and in
the lives of others. We see here Jesus
going again to matters of the heart. In
Matthew 15:18 that we read a couple of weeks ago Jesus told us that what comes
out of the mouth proceeds from the heart.
We used to have a saying when I was studying computers, “garbage
in-garbage out”. The same is true in our
lives. What we put in, is what will
eventually come out. May it be prayer
and praise!
Application: Take (extra) time to pray and praise Him
today!
Prayer: Father in Heaven, Holy is Your Name! Thank you for the children in my life and how
they teach me about childlike faith and praise.
May we take time today and each day to spend in prayer. May Your praise be on our lips
continually. In Christ’s name I pray,
Amen & Amen
