LETTING GO

Exodus 9

This chapter starts like yesterday's chapter, "Let My people go, that they may serve Me."

I wondered as I read this if the Israelites ever felt like they were serving God when they were making their bricks and working for Pharaoh?  Maybe that thought never crossed their mind, but throughout my day as I am working away "making my bricks" I try to imagine that I am working for God and not man according to the scripture found in Colossians 3:22-24.  But what if there is a "brick" you are making that He wants you to let go of?  Are you willing to let go and be free to serve Him?

Today has been one of those days so far ... you know the kind ... the kind with disappointments (not too unlike Pharaoh's disappointments perhaps) ... an attitude not right, selfishness in the home, cleaning up other people's messes, broken electronics ... and then I read, "Let My people go, that they may serve Me."  I stop in my tracks of a busy day and stop and ponder my present situation ...

LORD, yes, let me go, let me be free ... but do not let me be like Pharaoh who hardened his heart when the plaques and disappointments let up.  Let me be free to worship and serve you.

Blessings Abundant,

In the next few weeks there will be lots of changes in our family's life, new schools, new jobs, new hours, etc.  As I think about leaving my various "brick making" jobs and setting out for new things on the horizon I would like to remember ...
